LANSDALE, Pa. (CBS) -- Parents rallied outside the North Penn School District central office building Tuesday, asking for answers after a middle school student was reportedly attacked with a Stanley cup last week. School officials said the seventh grader was attacked during lunch on April 17 at Pennbrook Middle School. The injured student was taken to the hospital and is currently recovering at home.

Firefighter injured in attempted hit-and-run in Philadelphia PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A Philadelphia firefighter is recovering after officials said a driver hit him and attempted to drive away. It happened on the 4700 block of Osage Avenue in West Philadelphia as crews were responding to a scene Monday. According to eyewitnesses, the driver struck the firefighter and kept driving but got stuck after hitting a fire truck.

PHILADELPHIA (KYW) -- An 8-year-old boy was critically wounded and his father was left with burns after a fire broke out at their house in Philadelphia's Frankford neighborhood overnight Tuesday. Cellphone video captured the intense flames shooting from the two-story rowhome on the 4300 block of Griscom Street just after 1:30 a.m.Neighbors said they see the father and son outside often and weren't surprised to learn that he reportedly rushed inside the burning home to save his son.
