Phase one of the city pools in Philadelphia will start this week as temperatures rise and summer approaches. Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Commissioner Susan Slawson announced on Thursday that over 60 outdoor public pools will be opened this summer on a rolling basis. "Everyone deserves a safe place to cool off during the hottest months, regardless of their neighborhood," said Slawson in the release.

An arrest warrant was issued for the alleged third shooter in connection with the fatal shooting of a man near his home in Norristown, Pennsylvania, in May, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Norristown Acting Police Chief James Angelucci announced on Wednesday. Jabril Morgan-Cook, 18, of Norristown, is wanted for first-degree murder and related charges, the release said.

A man's body was found in the Schuylkill River near South Philadelphia on Tuesday, prompting an investigation, police said. Emergency responders went to the 3400 block of South 26th Street around 5:48 p.m. on reports of a person in the river, police said in the release. The man was pronounced dead at 6:37 p.m. as medics were at the scene. The man's identity is unknown. How the man got into the river is also unknown at this time. Police said South Detectives are conducting the investigation.
