COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Hurtsboro residents are mourning the loss of a longtime community leader. Reverend Walter Dix served his community for many years as a carpenter, building many houses in the area, pastoring three churches, and owning a long-standing neighborhood in Rutherford, Alabama. Dix passed away on May 8 at the age of 88. He leaves four children and a lifetime of lives positively impacted by his service.

By COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A shooting investigation is underway after one person was injured in south Columbus. According to the Columbus Police Department, the incident happened around 2 p.m. in the 3400 block of Trask Drive. No arrests have been made a this time. However, authorities say the victim's injuries have been reported to be non-life-threatening.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened on Manchester Expressway in Columbus. According to the Columbus Police Department, one person has been injured in the shooting. Due to the incident, officials blocked Manchester Expressway going eastbound between Miller Road stretching to Beaver Run Road. CPD asks travelers to avoid the area until further notice while authorities facilitate their investigation.
