For 2025, Free Fishing Day is scheduled for July 5 and Aug. 30. According to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), on Free Fishing Day, the public can fish throughout California without a fishing license. To avoid confusion regarding rules and regulations for that day, CDFW enforces all laws as usual.

Calexico’s recent CIF run and success on the baseball field were led by first-year head coach Luis Briseño, who was hired during the 2024 offseason. Briseño is a Calexico native who started playing baseball early on as a youngster.
