The three characters in “The Shark Is Broken” — currently being presented by George Street Playhouse at The New Brunswick Performing Arts Center, with direction by Peter Flynn — might agree. They are film actors, and the 2019 play, co-written by Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon, is devoted, almost entirely, to scenes in which they wait, together, for the filming to begin.

2 I wouldn’t blame you if you don’t believe it — this is a band that has claimed to have presented farewell tours before — but The Who say their upcoming North American tour will be their last. It is called their The Song Is Over North America Farewell Tour, and it will come to The Prudential Center in Newark on Aug. 19, and Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, Aug. 23. Other area stops include The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Aug.

2 Dave Davies of The Kinks will sign copies of his 2022 book “Living on a Thin Line: The Autobiography,” June 1 at 11 a.m. at the Bookends bookstore in Ridgewood. Davies, who now lives in Bergen County, formed The Kinks with his brother Ray (plus drummer Mick Avory and bassist Pete Quaife) in London, in 1963.

MUSIC• Kendrick Lamar and SZA (who grew up in Maplewood) will bring their co-headlining Grand National Tour to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, May 8-9 at 7 p.m. The tour, which began on April 19 in Minneapolis, has featured them presenting alternating mini-sets on their own, with collaborative numbers at various points in the show.

1 Guitarist Stéphane Wrembel will present the 2025 edition of his Django à Gogo Music Festival and Music Camp — an annual event since 2003, featuring music in the style of the great Romani-French guitarist and composer Django Reinhardt — May 6-11. Joining Wrembel as instructors and concert performers will be Mozes Rosenberg, David Gastine, Antoine Boyer, Frank Anastasio, Sam Farthing, Simba Baumgartner and Yeore Kim.

1 The dynamic blues-rock singer-songwriter and guitarist Samantha Fish will headline this year’s edition of the free, annual Morristown Jazz and Blues Festival, taking place on Aug. 16 on the downtown Morristown Green. Fish’s latest album, Paper Doll, just came out on April 25 (listen to the title track below). Her previous release — 2023’s Death Wish Blues, a collaboration with Jesse Dayton — was nominated for a Grammy in the Contemporary Blues Album category.
