Cal Poly’s Multicultural Center hosted their annual Culture Fest on Oct. 26. The festival is a time where multicultural clubs and organizations have the opportunity to booth in the University Union to connect with students through food and music. The event is run and operated by Multicultural Center staff and student assistants.

It’s that time of year again: graduation. As finals week wraps up and graduates and their guests prepare for the big day, there are also set instructions and expectations they must follow. Mustang News has prepared a How-To Commencement guide to clear any confusion. According to the Commencement Office website, ceremonies will be held on June 15 – 16 at Spanos Stadium. They will be broken up by academic colleges and spread throughout the day, with each ceremony lasting about 90 minutes.

Last week, Cal Poly ASI hosted its 12th annual Mustang Mile 5K Fun Run. The event took place in front of Perimeter Road at the Recreation Center from 6:30 to 8 p.m.The 5k honors the memory of Carson Starkey, a student who lost his life to alcohol poisoning after a fraternity hazing incident in 2008. In celebration of him, most participants dress up in costume during the run.

The events were put on in collaboration with various sustainability clubs and organizations on campus with the goals of educating on environmental, economic and social aspects of sustainability.

The “TikTok Organist” Anna Lapwood brought her expertise to San Luis Obispo as she combined her mastery of one of the most archaic of all instruments with modern scores to share her passion for music. On top of serving Pembroke College in Cambridge as director of music, Lapwood has amassed more than 550,000 fans online. She uses her platform to share her love of music and her love of the instrument.

Bunny’s Bae Bar, a glam trailer stationed at the festival’s VIP section entrance, offered complimentary festival hair and glitter services. According to their Instagram bio, Bunny’s Bae Bar is presented exclusively at Rolling Loud and partnered with the clothing store Forever 21.

Rolling Loud is once again returning to the West Coast for its 2024 show at Hollywood Park in Los Angeles March 14-17. This year, Rolling Loud is celebrating its 10th birthday. The decade special lineup is jam-packed with star-studded performers and beloved rappers of all types. Some notable names headlining this year’s festival include Ye, Ty Dolla $ign, Nicki Minaj, Post Malone and Future with Metro Boomin. The festival will stretch across four days.
