It was a bit surprising to see former Cardinals handyman Tommy Edman sitting on six homers through the weekend. The long ball is not really his thing. Otherwise, the success Edman had with the Los Angeles Dodgers during last fall’s playoffs and the first weeks of this season was hardly stunning to folks in these parts. Fans elsewhere may not have been familiar with him, but we knew Edman fielded multiple positions well while adding offensive energy.
