Midwest Blvd. The Kentucky Derby themed night will be filled with live music, auction items, food, drinks and exciting games. A highlight of the evening is the toy horse races. Guests can buy a toy horse to compete. Run for the Roses is a fundraiser to support student scholarships.

    By Jeff Harrison Midwest City Beacon Midwest City leaders approved a zoning change that would allow a former grocery store to be converted into an indoor trampoline park. Sky Zone plans to transform the vacant Mini Max grocery store building,10011 SE 15th St., into an indoor trampoline park. The council approved a request to amend the existing Planned Unit Development and allow for a trampoline park as acceptable use in the zoning.

The city council recently agreed to de-annex the Riverside Mobile Home Park in an effort to settle an ongoing dispute between the city and owners of the park. Under the agreement, the mobile home park will revert back to the jurisdiction of Oklahoma County, which has property adjacent to the park.

    Home furnishing retailer to open in former Dick’s Sporting Goods building By Jeff Harrison Midwest City Beacon Home Goods plans to open a store in Midwest City. The popular home furnishing store will be located in the former Dick’s Sporting Goods building, 7095 SE 29th St. Home Goods recently signed a lease for the building and plan to open in November. The store sells a wide range of home products such as indoor and outdoor furniture, rugs, lamps and other furniture.
