EBS STAFFThe first known grizzly death of the year—according to FWP records—occurred on Friday, April 11 when a man shed hunting near Dupuyer in north-central Montana shot and killed a grizzly bear. The adult female bear was 13 years old, weighed about 250 pounds and had no history of conflicts, according to an April 14 FWP press release. The man was searching for shed antlers on a hillside when he first saw a bear, the release stated.

EBS STAFFUntil April 16, Big Sky residents can stop by the Big Sky Community Library during operating hours to buy used reads. Proceeds will support the library and include a range of stories, including bestseller titles like “Nexus” by Yuval Noah Harari and Barack Obama’s “The Promised Land”—as supplies last. On top of the book sale, Big Sky Community Organization announced on April 7 that it has teamed up with the library to bring any interested community members a free book club.

EBS STAFFOld or broken electronics may find a new life at the Logan Landfill later this month. On April 26, the Logan Landfill in Bozeman will hold a free E-waste recycling event from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Computers, towers, laptops, monitors, printers, televisions, stereo equipment, VCRs, copiers keyboards, mice, cell phones, handheld electronic devices and batteries will all be accepted at this event.
