On Tuesday, a bill initially introduced by Montana freshman Sen. Tim Sheehy, intended to chip away at wildfire reform, passed the House of Representatives and is on its way to President Trump’s desk, where it may be signed into law. The Aerial Firefighting Enhancement Act — a bipartisan effort — was met with enthusiasm from wildland firefighting companies. It will reauthorize them to purchase military planes and plane parts from the Department of Defense.
