SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta archery teams brought home medals from the 2025 NASP New Jersey State Bullseye Tournament. This is the first year Sparta has been represented at all levels; elementary, middle and high school, Coach AJ Angor said. Callie Maines finished in third place. Madison Maines finished in sixth place for high school girls. “Adrien Applebaum, Jason Gutowski and Veronica Bednarzall did great as well,” Agnor said. Angie Szabo took second overall for middle school girls.

SPARTA, NJ – The boys volleyball team defeated North Hunterdon in two games winning 25-12 and 25 – 20 playing on the Spartan’s court on Wednesday. Aiden Foy had eight service points with two aces and two kills. George Tsamadias had six points with three aces, a kill, a block and 12 assists.Owen Seth Gary earned five service points with an ace. Englehardt had four service points with an ace. Diandre Carr had three service points with eight kills. Robbie Ambrosino had two kills and two blocks.

SPARTA, NJ – April has been proclaimed Child Abuse Prevention month by Sparta Township Council.Andrea Ryker was in council chambers to accept the proclamation on behalf of Ginnie’s House in Newton. Before reading the proclamation, Mayor Neill Clark said, “This is one of those types of proclamations I wish we didn’t have to have. But I am grateful we have Ginnie’s House,” Mayor Neill Clark said. “I can think of no other issue that pulls at the heartstrings like child abuse.
