    The Galápagos Islands of Ecuador need no introduction: The famous laboratory for Charles Darwin and his research on evolution are a naturalist’s paradise, brimming with endemic species. As a wildlife enthusiast, I’ve long had the Galápagos on my wish list, drawn by the promise of up-close encounters with sea lions, penguins, blue-footed boobies, giant tortoises, and more.
