The regular Sonata’s comfortable driving dynamics are a big plus, and the N Line builds on that by adding some liveliness. Its turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder is good for 290 horsepower and 311 pounds-feet of torque, and pep is nearly instant with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that’s ready and willing to snap off shifts for fluid power delivery. The N Line’s sportiness can be customized, too, from mild to wildish.

In short, the XC90 Plug-in Hybrid is engaging, comfortable and efficient. It’s quick from a stop and feels light on its feet despite its hefty base curb weight of just over 5,000 pounds. Power isn’t as instantaneous as in a fully electric vehicle, but the plug-in XC90 is much peppier than a non-electrified three-row SUV.

Dodge is calling the sedan “the world’s only four-door muscle car,” and it has some pretty serious numbers to back that up — which should look familiar, as they’re shared with the Scat Pack coupe. The 670-horsepower, dual-motor, battery-electric powertrain makes 627 pounds-feet of torque and rockets from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds; all-wheel drive is standard, and that EV’s maximum range is 241 miles. More performance is available with the optional Track Package, available on both body styles.
