    With continuing projects on the Spaulding powerhouse, Nevada Irrigation District (NID) reported Wednesday that PG&E is keeping in line, so far, to its obligation to have the construction on the pipelines done by August 2. NID General Manager Jennifer Hanson was not in attendance at the NID board’s meeting Wednesday morning, so Director of Water Operations Chip Close delivered an update on the status of that project as well as water levels at local NID-maintained reservoirs.

    Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning is reaching out and is holding true to its name, offering a program that connects students of its Nevada City school to similar aged people all the way in Senegal. Since 2023, the school has been facilitating its SAEL to Senegal program, which offers selected students the opportunity to travel to the African country, all in the name of being a good worldly neighbor and offering help where it might be needed.
