The National Weather Service out of Sacramento has advised that those in mountain elevations be aware of the possibility of thunderstorms throughout the region. “(Today) has the high conduction potential, so a higher potential for thunderstorms,” said meteorologist Sara Purdue with National Weather Service. “That potential is still really highest along the Sierra Crest.

This Saturday, Easter will come early as Charlie Williams opens up his South Auburn Street property—more commonly known in winter months as North Pole on South Auburn—for an egg hunt and other spring-related festivities. For the past 14 years, most people around town have known Charlie Williams for his elaborate display of lights and decorations on his land which he has offered as a free service to help Nevada County celebrate the spirit of the season.

For nearly his entire life, Jesse Beck has loved dance. He started dancing ballet at age 12, was one of the first boys in intermediate dance at Nevada Union, and then was the first and only boy in advanced ever in his sophomore year. As a young man in New York City, he attended Tisch School of Dance at New York University where he obtained his BFA in Dance. He eventually concentrated on his career, not actively dancing but always recalling his years at the barre with great fondness.
