A certain spirit takes over a room filled with — and for — women. That uplifting energy was palpable when 5,600 attendees gathered at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center for the 5th annual California Conference for Women on February 12. Last month, Samantha DuVall Bechtel reopened the doors to Izzy’s Steaks & Chops in celebration of the restoration and renovation of the Steiner Street steakhouse her late father, Sam DuVall, opened in 1987. By age 13, she was even running the door at Izzy’s each Sunday.

“Moore hopes to capture a particular emotion — the way grief transforms its sufferers into fools and fantasists — and then surround the reader in all its terrible beauty, as the aria surrounds the listener. The story has to get inside us and do its thing.” https://t.co/jOIDOUQVaC
