Menlo Park City School District received a J. Russell Kent Award from the San Mateo County School Boards Association for its district-wide program, PAWZitivity: Wellness Facility Dogs Serving TK-Eighth Grade Students. The Kent Award recognizes innovative programs that have been implemented in schools across the county. PAWZitivity was created to address concerns reported in a survey about academic performance, social acceptance and how to adjust to the rapid pace of the world.

Menlo School in Atherton is presenting its production of “Curtains,” a murder mystery comedy musical filled with suspense and wit. The musical will be performed in Spieker Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. on May 2 and May 3, and at 3 p.m. on May 4. The production tells the story of a series of deaths that occur after a leading lady in a production of “Robinhood” collapses during her final bow. A theater loving detective steps in to solve the case.

Atherton’s annual Earth Day Festival will take place Sunday, April 27, at Holbrook-Palmer Park. The free, family-friendly event will feature DIY projects, nature-inspired crafts and educational resources. Attendees can view birds of prey, a live reptile show and a bug museum. This year’s theme is “Protect Our Species.” Attendees are encouraged to walk or bike to the event as limited parking is available. Optional registration is available at atherton.news/earth-day-2025.

The fourth annual Love Our Earth Festival will take place on Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Belle Haven Community Campus. The event will include information on home electrification, a clean vehicle expo, a plant-based market, live music and more activities. This year’s theme is “resilient communities” and will focus on how communities can mitigate and prepare for the effects of climate change. The event is free and attendies are encouraged to RSVP through Eventbrite.
