Hamilton’s sunny and warm weather is being blown away by a cold front. Gusty winds roared in overnight, tossing loose objects and election campaign signs. Environment Canada issued a wind warning at 3:30 p.m., informing residents of the “very strong” winds gusting at 90 kilometres per hour. Those winds are blowing into the region ahead of the low-pressure system from northwestern Ontario, said Environment Canada meteorologist Barbara Lapido.

All that water with nowhere to go “may lead to localized flooding in low lying areas and water pooling on roads,” the weather statement says.
