A 32-year-old man faces a handful of charges after a robbery at a Waterloo store. Waterloo Regional Police said the incident occurred Saturday, at approximately 12 p.m., when a man entered a store in the area of King Street South and Willis Way and threatened employees before leaving with unpaid merchandise. The man then re-entered the store with a metal pipe, uttered threats at staff, and then fled on foot, police said. Police caught up to a suspect on Caroline Street South and arrested him.

A quad-gymnasium will be built at Kitchener Indoor Recreation Complex in RBJ Schlegel Park courtesy of a $10-million grant from the provincial government. Minister of Sport Neil Lumsden was in Kitchener Monday to announced the funding, as part of $200 million the province is handing out through the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund to communities revitalize local facilities and promote active and healthy living.
