Earlier this week, Visit Philadelphia debuted a new public art installation at Cherry Street Pier in celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. The 10-foot-tall, 250-pound sculpture, titled “In Plain Sight,” prominently displays the letters T, Q and a plus sign to represent the trans and queer communities, along with others who fall under the broader LGBTQ+ spectrum.

Brian Morrison, a sign language interpreter with Hands UP Productions — which provides services for performing arts productions throughout the Delaware Valley and beyond — recently interpreted an Ensemble Arts performance of “Riverdance” at Philadelphia’s Miller Theater. The dance-heavy show is not particularly well-known for dialogue but features a few spoken and sung sections spread throughout.
