Scarlett recalled from Oxford United loan spell

Tottenham Hotspur have recalled striker Dane Scarlett from his loan spell with Championship side Oxford United. Scarlett, 20, joined the U's in August and scored four goals in 20 Championship appearances. Last week, Oxford announced the signing of Tom Bradshaw from Millwall, a striker whom new boss Gary Rowett had previously worked with at the Lions. Bradshaw's addition could have been seen by Spurs as another name in front of their player getting minutes.
Oxford want to be 'aggressive' in window - Rowett

Oxford United boss Gary Rowett has said that the U's want to be "aggressive" with their recruitment in this January transfer window. They have already added Alex Matos and Ole Romeny to their ranks this winter and Rowett has said that they want more. Midfielder Matos joined on loan from Chelsea until the end of the season last Friday, five days after Romeny arrived for a club record fee from FC Utrecht. "We certainly want to be quite aggressive," Rowett told BBC Radio Oxford.

Over the international break the 20-year-old scored a brace in a 2-0 World Cup qualifying win against Saudi Arabia. The midfielder signed for Oxford this summer from Belgium side KMSK Deinze and is still yet to make an appearance for the U's. But he will return from international duty with plenty of confidence and more hunger to get onto the pitch in the yellow of Oxford.
