DARIEN - A Norwalk man faces four counts of voyeurism for hiding a video camera in a commercial restroom, police said Wednesday. Eric Gaucher, 47, was arrested on April 2 after turning himself in, police said. Officers responded to an unidentified commercial establishment on Post Road Jan. 23 after a hidden camera was found in the store's bathroom, according to a summary of the arrest. The type of restroom - men's, women's or unisex - was not identified.

HARTFORD - The public is invited to a candlelight vigil tonight to honor Xavier Williams, the 10-year-old Windsor native who was killed in Florida after what police there described as prolonged and horrific abuse. The vigil is set for 7 p.m. at the West Indian Social Club, 3340 Main St. in Hartford, Xavier's father, Keniel Williams, said in an interview Wednesday.

A funeral home owner took pre-paid burial funds from people with cognitive and physical disabilities and spent the money on gambling, trips and hotels, according to an arrest warrant released Tuesday. Philip Pietras, 51, of Coventry, was arrested on a first-degree larceny charge on Sunday. Pietras was released after posting a $50,000 bond and is set to appear in Superior Court in Rockville on April 14, Connecticut State Police said in a news release Tuesday.

PLYMOUTH - The owner of a swingers club has appealed the town's order to shut down the members-only gathering space, which features a lounge and eight "play rooms," and said Tuesday that he will remain open and battle in court if necessary. "This is flat-out a First Amendment violation," Wicked Fun Club owner Steve Gagne said of the town's cease and desist order, issued March 28. Gagne filed the appeal Monday with the Zoning Board of Appeals, which is set to meet April 29.
