SOUTHINGTON - Tyler James Wall, a Southington native and fitness coach who died in February, is the inspirational heart of a viral video that shows him driving, encouraging and praising a man who was challenged to lose 100 pounds within a year. Wall, 38, coached Majd Khader, a candidate to win $250,000 from Mr. Beast, also known as Jimmy Donaldson, a YouTuber with 407 million followers. Khader started the challenge at 324 pounds, and by Day 178, he had slimmed to 222 pounds, the video shows.

GREENWICH — A former New York Yankees third baseman won a jury verdict expected to total about $500,000 after suing his landlord for mold problems, pests and other issues in a leased Greenwich mansion. Josh Donaldson filed the federal suit against the Lake Avenue property owner, Bill Grous, in 2022 after paying a $110,000 security deposit and leasing the 4,480-square-foot home for $55,000 per month. The jury in U.S. District Court in Connecticut issued its verdict Wednesday.

MILFORD - After searching for his son in the dark along Interstate 95 last week, Jose Febus Sanchez said he resumed the search in daylight and found the 31-year-old Hamden man in brush off Exit 38 in Milford. Jose Febus Rivera's eyes were open, his father said, but he obviously was dead.
