A new, original variety show is coming to the Rhode Center for the Arts for not one, but two shows on Saturday, June 21. “Pride Mind,” directed by Kerra Allen and JT Walker, features songs, drag, dance, sketches and poetry. The shows will be held at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. at the Rhode, 514 56th St. Tickets are $15 for one show or $25 for both, and are available at the door or online at rhodecenter.org.

A Kenosha Unified panel is taking a hard look at policies that guide student promotion between grade levels. Committee members discussed district policies on "Promotion/Acceleration" and "Third Grade to Fourth Grade Promotion for Students with a Reading Plan" at a meeting June 10. KUSD Chief Academic Officer Wendy Tindall said the district had been tasked with creating the latter policy in accordance with reading legislation.
