Born in New Castle, I am all for the New Castle fieldhouse being the largest anywhere. However, I have long wanted New Castle to come by that distinction honestly. For quite some time, that was not the case. Figures provided to me in 2020 by New Castle Principal Kirk Amman indicated that the 8,457 figure presented as the fieldhouse seating size was reached by counting 260 bleacher seats that were actually located in what was then the wrestling room.

Just a few weeks ago, I found myself on our couch early in the morning with coffee in hand, looking at my Bible with tears in my eyes. My husband and I had lost a close family member that past week.
