    (Cleveland)- There was a lot of money talk during this week’s White County Commission Meeting. As reported earlier, finding funds for a new White County Library, the commissioners approved funding for some road improvement projects, also funding was approved by the county to partner with the City of Cleveland for July 5th Fireworks Event. White County Commission Chairman Travis Turner said during the meeting that he wanted to clarify information about the new gym project.

    (Cleveland)- White county voters could have the opportunity in November to approve a local sales tax that will help lower or possibility eliminate your property taxes. Back in November, voters approved House Bill 581, which allows counties to work with local municipalities to have placed on a ballot a referendum question calling for a 1 cent tax called a FLOST or Floating Local Option Sales Tax.

    Last time, I wrote about how the cross was central to Christian hope. But the cross alone is not a sign of hope without Jesus’ resurrection and ascension — the fulfillment of His redemptive mission. If Christ had only suffered and died but not risen, our faith would be in vain (1 Corinthians 15:14). However, because He did rise and ascend into heaven, we have the assurance that sin and death do not have the final word. His victory is ours, and this truth calls us to be a people of unwavering hope.

    When I was a child, I assumed that by the time I reached adulthood I would know most of what I needed to know to work, to parent, and to otherwise succeed in adult stuff. While my parents certainly weren’t perfect, they didn’t give me any glaring examples of inadequacy. They seemed to know how to do their jobs, provide dinner and clothes for us, and guide us in our walk with the Lord. They were a constant source of stability and wisdom and seemed to have answers to my questions.
