But look up wherever you are on the night of July 4 and you might see pyrotechnics blooming in the night sky, from Woodlawn Lake, downtown, the theme parks or private celebrations. The Fourth also evokes patriotic music and small-town parades. If that's the way you want to celebrate, you can head out of town in almost any direction and find a flag-waving festival.

San Antonio fans won't have to wait too much longer to see Shakira. The global pop superstar has rescheduled her concert at the Alamodome, which was abruptly postponed Friday shortly before show time because of issues with the stage. "I'll be with my pack in San Antonio this July 5th to give you the show you deserve!" Shakira posted on X Wednesday. "See you soon, Texas!"The makeup date will be July 5, according to a statement from concert promoter Live Nation.
