Oconomowoc is considering expanding a tax district to continue development within Olympia Fields, the site of the former Olympia Resort. Elevate will be a five-story mixed-use building with apartments, townhomes and retail space. The Social will be a 60,000-square-foot entertainment complex with indoor and outdoor activities. The city hopes these projects will further diversify Olympia Fields and generate additional tax revenue.

Two people died in a three-vehicle crash, including a semi truck, in the Village of Waukesha on June 9. The accident occurred around 3:15 p.m. on state Highway 164 at the Lawnsdale Road intersection, the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. A 91-year-old woman, the driver, and her 92-year-old man, her passenger, were killed as their northbound vehicle turned left in front of the southbound semi on Highway 164, according to a preliminary report.
