Well, Quad Cities folks, it looks like the 2025 monsoon season may be starting a little early this year. The technical duration of the season is June 15 to Sept. 30, but, as you've seen the past few days, we've been getting some moisture, along with some thunder and lightning this past Tuesday night. Not necessarily a bad thing with our area in Stage 1 and Stage 2 fire restrictions.

By JIM WRIGHT, The Daily Courier Last Saturday I took the opportunity to do something I'd been meaning to do for quite some time - sort through my two bins of keepsakes; not necessarily to get rid of anything, but to peruse the stacks of memories that have been moved at least a half dozen times, often without the tops being taken off the bins during entire stays at a house or apartment.
