James City County Police searching for missing woman

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — The James City County Police Department is looking for Angel Graves, 48, who was reported missing Friday. Police said Graves was last seen in person at her home on Diascund Road in James City County during the early morning hours Friday, and, at around 5:57 a.m., a gray Nissan Rogue, which Graves was believed to have been driving, was spotted on a Flock Safety camera near Norge Elementary School.

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Investigators looking into last week’s fatal plane crash at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton are focusing on a plug on a wing that may have come loose either on approach or during the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board released a preliminary report into the April 24 crash, which killed the plane’s pilot, Rob Holland, 50, of Rob Holland Aerosports.

(WAVY) — A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with threatening to bomb or burn a building in connection to an incident at Nandua High School Friday morning, the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office said. The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office said it has determined it was an isolated incident and there is no further threat to the community or the school division.

Portsmouth Police said that around 10:31 p.m., officers responded to a vehicle crash after the pursuit of someone they said was a suspect in a homicide out of Virginia Beach. NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man has been taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot on Tunstall Avenue in Norfolk Tuesday night, police said. The call for the shooting in the 900 block of Tunstall Avenue, in the Calvert Square area of the city, came in at 10:40 p.m., Norfolk Police said. NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — There are delays in both the Downtown and Midtown tunnels Tuesday night, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. The westbound Midtown Tunnel had been closed due to a vehicle crash, which VDOT is calling a high-impact incident. VDOT said there is a detour was place, but as of 11:05 p.m., the west left lane had reopened.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — William & Mary offensive tackle Charles Grant was taken in the third round with the 99th pick by the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2025 NFL Draft Friday. The 6-foot-4, 300 pound Grant started 41 games in college and was named a two-time FCS All-American following his junior and senior seasons. He allowed just one sack in 2024 and two sacks in his last three seasons, while the Tribe ranked fourth nationally in rushing yards, averaging 232.8 yards per game.
