1 INTRODUCTION Using mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) to target obesity-related eating behaviors has demonstrated some promising results and been increasingly implemented to prevent or treat overweight or obesity.1, 2 The significant effects of MBIs on anthropometric outcomes (BMI: g = −0.36, waist circumference: g = −1.20) have been delineated in our previous meta-analysis,3 but the effects of MBIs on eating behavioral outcomes remain relatively obscure.

The coronavirus disease pandemic (COVID-19) has negatively affected families worldwide (Jansen et al., 2021; Wang et al., 2020). As a result of lockdown restrictions, shelter in place orders, and worsened financial conditions, families have experienced drastic challenges in their everyday lives. These and other COVID-19-related challenges have posed an abrupt shift in caregivers' (i.e., parents or legal guardians) and children's routines (Karpman et al., 2020).
