Almost 1,400 unsafe toys were seized in Lincolnshire after inspections by Trading Standards officers. About 1,000 counterfeit items, including fake designer clothes and branded headphones were also removed from sale. Officers, who carried out 60 inspections for the toy safety project, said many items were found in seaside towns. But they added unsafe toys could be found across Lincolnshire, in shops and markets, as well as online.

An pre-inquest review into the death of a toddler heard it was still not possible to establish when he died. The review, at the Myle Cross Centre in Lincoln, was told two-year-old Bronson Battersby and his 60-year-old father Kenneth Battersby were found dead at a property in Skegness on 9 January. At the opening of an inquest into the deaths in June, coroner Paul Smith heard Bronson had died of dehydration after his father had died.

A boy has appeared in court charged with attempted murder and possession of a samurai sword after a 13-year-old girl was stabbed. The girl was discovered with lacerations to her neck, abdomen, chest and back near the A63 in Hessle at about 06:50 GMT on Friday 1 November. Humberside Police said the injured girl was in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Lincoln magistrates were shown footage of Mr Burton, filmed by the Lincolnshire Hunt Saboteurs, of an incident on 27 January on Riseholme Lane in the city. However, the 59-year-old told police in interview he was trying to draw the hounds to him. He has pleaded not guilty to hunting a wild animal.
