From brawls, drunks and ‘runners’, to people vomiting in her car and being chased by the police. The job is rarely dull, as reporter Joe Crossley found out. It’s ironic that one of Charisse’s worst fares so far was from the Stumble Inn, a well-known pub in the Milton area of Sittingbourne.

Work on an seaside town’s new 18-hole adventure golf course has started. The Sheppey-themed course, which features Island landmarks, is being built at Beachfields in Sheerness as part of the £20 million regeneration of the town centre. Construction began today (April 14) and is set to be completed in late July. It comes after the public was asked for their input into the Swale council scheme in January.

A former solicitor's boss could face prison time after breaching a court order. Dorota Newman, who owned historic Jarmans Solicitors in Sittingbourne, has also been ordered to cough up nearly £40,000. Jarmans, which had been in the town for 150 years and was based out of Conqueror Court, was closed by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) in March last year under Ms Newman’s stewardship.

A fast-growing chicken shop empire is set to open its first store in the county near an award-winning park. Wingers has taken over the lots opposite Greggs drive-thru just outside Milton Country Park, near Sittingbourne. It will serve a range of chicken products, including tenders, wings, burgers, loaded fries and wraps. The eatery, which will be taking up the two empty units in Saffron Way, was started Amran Sunner, his brother Dylan, and his dad Bill, who come from the Midlands.
