Google is still playing coy about when its smaller pro-grade smartphone will hit shelves, but we've got a pretty good idea. As originally reported by our buds over at WhistleOut, a listing on the JB Hi-Fi website suggests that the handset will launch in Australia on 24 October 2024. Although the Google Pixel 9 Pro launched alongside its siblings overseas, it was missing in action when the the Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 landed locally back in August.

It feels like yesterday but the Nintendo Switch announcement was nearly eight years ago (when we first met Antisocial Karen.) Besides the Nintendo Switch Lite and Nintendo Switch OLED, there haven’t been any meaningful hardware upgrades to the hybrid handheld console since it first came out; certainly nothing that would be classified as a next-gen follow-up. Before the Switch OLED’s release, rumours about a ‘Nintendo Switch Pro’ ran rife.
