The borough was granted a £600,000 fund from the government last September for a range of measures to repair damage and improve community cohesion after the violent disorder.

ANDREW MONK, 39, from Bury, is wanted for burglary. GARETH SCHOFIELD, 33, from Bury, is wanted for failing to appear at crown court for criminal damage. 5 1/1 Detailed plans have been put forward to expand Marks & Spencer store in Horwich to create an “exemplar, state-of-the-art” shopping experience. The plans set out how the store at Middlebrook Retail Park will expand into the old Wilko and Boots branches next door. A  statement included in the plans stated the store “no longer provides a high-quality shopping experience and has become dated and too small for the surrounding catchment.
