2 1/1 New measures are set to be brought in aiming to tackle “noise, disruption and danger” caused by off-road bikers at an historic site. This comes after complaints about off-road bikers causing trouble on the fields near the 16th century Hall i’th’ Wood Museum. The fields are a popular go to for families and children, with funding now lined up for a range of “target hardening” measures to make it more difficult for bikers to get onto them.

This comes with Bolton’s waiting list for housing standing at the tens of thousands with families across the borough in need of a new home. Bolton South and Walkden MP Yasmin Qureshi gathered leading figures from housing services to a round table meeting to discuss how to tackle the issue.

5 1/1 Three shopworkers have bid a fond farewell to their friends and colleagues after clocking up decades of services between them. Julie Dalton, who has worked at the Sainsbury’s on Trinity Street in the town centre for 39 years, Ramila Patel and Barbara Flood all retired together with a special ceremony at the supermarket. They were presented with flowers and gifts by Mayor of Bolton Cllr Andy Morgan.

3 1/1 A new pocket park has been opened in the heart of the town centre to round off a £40m housing project. The new park has been opened on Cheadle Square, just behind Le Mans Crescent, after work finished on the 214 home Moor Lane project on the site of the old bus station. Developers and council officials hope the revamped square will help link Bolton Market to the rest of the town centre and give people space to stop, rest and socialise.
