Friday is not only the end of the line for Crozer Health hospitals, but an unknown number of doctors' offices and health centers across Delaware County, Pennsylvania, will also shut down, sources and local officials tell CBS News Philadelphia. The news has come as a shock to many who believed facilities in Glen Mills, Haverford, Broomall and Media had been spared, but officials said while bankruptcy auctions of those locations are still pending, they will be forced to close in the meantime.

The end is near for Delaware County's largest health system. Thursday was the last full day that Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland was open. Hallways, patient rooms and operating rooms, are now empty as the hospital prepares to shut down permanently at 8 a.m. on Friday. Patients are trying to figure out where to go now to get care. "It's somber," Melanie McKendry, the lead medical assistant at the gynecologic-oncology unit at Crozer Chester Medical Center, said.

Delaware County lawmakers want criminal investigation into Prospect Medical Holdings Delaware County's delegation of state lawmakers is asking the Pennsylvania attorney general to consider bringing criminal charges against Prospect Medical Holdings for closing the Crozer Health system. In a letter to Attorney General Dave Sunday, a group of state lawmakers requested that the attorney general open a criminal investigation into the California-based private health care company.

EMS workers sounding alarm with Crozer Health hospitals closing The closing of Crozer Health is impacting more than just employees and patients. Emergency medical services are now faced with driving patients to other hospitals that are farther away. Crozer Health began diverting patients from its emergency departments Wednesday and is no longer admitting new patients. Local hospitals have already reported an increase in patient admissions.
