    Catapult, one of the leading providers in athlete performance technology, has acquired weightlifting data company Perch for $18 million dollars. Full Court Capital advised Perch on the transaction. Catapult is a publicly traded company on the Australian stock exchange. Perch, which had raised more than $6 million in funding, was founded by three MIT graduates who use computer vision cameras to track athletes’ reps, sets, velocity and power output at the gym.

    The Professional Fighters League has revamped its direct-to-consumer app to make all its international events available live and free to domestic fans. While the U.S.-based world tournament will remain on ESPN, PFL’s four global leagues -- Europe, MENA, Africa and Pacific (which will launch in 2026) -- will now be available on the ViewLift-powered PFL app. Personalized shoulder programming, such as behind-the-scenes video, fighter stats and stories, and games, will also be included.

    The NHL’s Big City Greens Classic was the sports industry’s very first live, animated alt-cast. The 2024 NHL All-Star Game was the very first full game to be rendered in 3D on Roblox, via the NHL Blast experience. Other ADVs (animated data visualizations) have popped up on regional sports networks, major cable studio shows and on YouTube.

    The NHL and Sony have struck a multiyear global technology partnership, consolidating and accelerating their existing relationships across several Sony divisions. That includes the use of Hawk-Eye replay tech since 2015 and the addition of the more recent installation of its tracking cameras in every NHL arena, as well as co-production of animated alt-casts with Beyond Sports and the reliance on Sony broadcast and still cameras.

    Sports analysis provider Hudl has acquired Titan Sports, a GPS wearable focused primarily on the sub-elite level of high schools, clubs and small colleges. Terms were not disclosed. This is Hudl’s 16th acquisition and third this year, following the additions of FastModel and Balltime.
