    As the sting of tariffs start to impact Ontario communities, a Cambridge motorhome manufacturer has announced 80 workers temporarily laid off last week won’t be coming back just yet. The union that represents production workers at Roadtrek, Unifor Local 1106, said it hopes workers can get back soon. “Everybody’s kind of uneasy right now, because everyone wants to get back to work,” said Ramon Souto, Local 1106 president.

    Escaping a dangerous and abusive relationship isn’t easy, but a local organization is making it safer for victims fleeing abuse. The Waterloo Region chapter of Shelter Movers has been helping individuals and families move their belongings from homes where they have been facing intimate partner violence for the past five years. “We are really filling a gap that wasn’t filled before,” said Courtney Waterfall, head of Shelter Movers Waterloo Region chapter.
