UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio (WCMH) — The golf season has barely begun and it is already a special year for a group of high school caddies at Scioto Country Club. For the first time in Scioto’s long history, five caddies in one year have earned an Evans Scholarship. The program provides full, four-year tuition and housing college scholarships. AdvertisementThe five at Scioto are part of almost 30 in Ohio who earned scholarships; nationally, 340 were awarded for the 2024-25 academic year.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Ohio State’s new tight end, who only arrived a couple months ago, says it feels like home. Max Klare transferred in from Purdue and he’s no stranger to football in Ohio as a graduate of St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati. Klare brings a different skill set to Buckeyes, Tight Ends Coach Keenan Bailey said. “He showed some things on film that might complement what we already have in the room and really make us a pretty whole unit,” Bailey said.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — It is an open competition as Ohio State works its way toward selecting a starting quarterback, and that decision will come down the road. Quarterbacks coach Billy Fessler said the priority right now is daily improvement, it’s not about finding a starting quarterback. All three players are very talented: Julian Sayin and Tavien St. Clair are five-star recruits and Lincoln Keinholz is a four-star recruit.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WCMH) – It went the distance at Rocket Arena in Cleveland against the Toledo Rockets as the Ohio Bobcats lost in overtime 90-85 in the MAC Tournament quarterfinals. It was a game that almost did not go to overtime. The Bobcats had a 76-75 lead with four seconds to go. Toledo had to go the length of the court in four seconds and amongst the chaos, Ohio’s Shereef Mitchell fouled Toledo’s Sonny Wilson, sending him to the free throw line for two shots.
