Anna Saltzman did not plan it, but she provided the perfect ending for the Class 1A No. 7 Gilbert girls soccer team during their 10-0 victory over Perry on senior night May 8 at Gilbert. On April 29 Stetson Kane and his shuttle hurdle teammates Chase Ihle, Kiir Wol and Curtis Hinzman were just expecting it to be another day at the office when they competed at the Comet Relays in Alleman. The Ballard quartet had been among the best boys shuttle hurdle teams in Class 3A. But while they had been steady throughout the season, they had not established themselves as a team capable of earning a spot on the podium at state in a couple of weeks.
