The Nevada softball program may be on the verge of starting a new trend every year. For the past three seasons a player on the team has broken the school's single-season home run record. Samantha Herridge started the trend with seven homers during the 2022 season. The following year Jorie Hillman stepped up eight long balls, and last year catcher Meagan McGaffin went deep nine times. Now it might be junior third baseman Jadyn Melohn's turn to set the mark.
