    LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - New developments Wednesday night when it comes to wrong-way drivers. In December 2023, a wrong-way driver killed three-year-old Jaya Brooks in a crash on the 95. Her family has been pushing for change since. They testified at the legislature. AB 111 would give wrong-way driving harsher penalties. “Everyday I look forward to spending the day with my daughter,” said Jan Brooks, Jaya’s father. “On December 9, 2023, that was taken from me.”She was killed in the wrong-way crash.

(FOX5) - A trip back in time was not an easy one for many Nevada veterans who visited the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in a recent honor flight to our nation’s capital. “I can’t look for names,” said Henderson Vietnam veteran Gregg Schiffbauer. Schiffbauer was a MACV-SOG member while serving on the U.S.S. Enterprise. The highly classified group helped rescue prisoners of war in Vietnam, as well as downed pilots.

    LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Honor Flight Southern Nevada veterans stepped back into the 1950’s when they laid a wreath at the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C.“I felt good. I was glad to do it. To be an honor to do something like that,” said 90-year-old Frank Martinez. Martinez, who served in the Army in the 1950’s, was one of 35 Korean War and Vietnam War veterans who took a recent trip to tour war memorials with Honor Flight Southern Nevada.

    LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A recent trip to Washington D.C., as part of Honor Flight Southern Nevada, led several Vietnam veterans to face a difficult memorial. For some it was the first time seeing the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, which contains the names of more than 58,000 Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice for the United States. Eighty-four-year-old Kenneth Pavese, a Marine Corporal and Helicopter Crew Chief was serving stateside from 1960 to 1964.
