While there is plenty to see in the skies around Arnold Palmer Regional Airport, especially with the additional Spirit Airlines flights returning later this spring, there’s also a lot happening on the ground. Construction around taxiways E and D will lead to nightly closures beginning March 16, from 10 p.m. to 6:15 a.m. The crews will begin with Taxiway E before moving on to D, airport officials said at the Westmoreland County Airport Authority meeting Tuesday.

Two Ligonier Township supervisors said they have made their concerns known to a foundation offering to pony up millions of dollars for a new police headquarters but want to make sure the public is aware of what’s being offered. An offer was presented last year for an anonymous donor to cover the cost of purchasing land near U.S. Route 30 and building a Ligonier Valley Police complex. The Ligonier Borough and Ligonier Township merged their departments into a regional force back in 2019.
