Video captured a homeless man jumping on the hood of a car before smashing its windshield at the corner of Hollywood and Highland, and it's just one of the countless scenes across Los Angeles and California in which homeless people suffering from addiction or mental illness vandalize property, assault people or sometimes even commit murder. The woman who shot the video happens to be a therapist who treats the unhoused.

For years, one residential section of Hollywood had been plagued by homeless encampments that brought trash, drugs and fires to the area. But now, the tents have been gone for five weeks with no signs of returning. "It's so much safer without the tents. Thousands of southern Californians live in or near the hills, where floods, mudslides, and fires are not uncommon. @NBCLA I-Team uncovers how the city of @LACity could have possibly prevented two recent mudslides that damaged homes and threatened lives. https://t.co/idNbjX4gik

Most of homeless are left out in rain and cold in effort by @MayorOfLA to bring unhoused in @lacity indoors. Motel rooms have been offered to homeless in tourist areas like Venice and Hollywood, but what about chronic areas like Skid Row and Mar Vista? https://t.co/lIt8qL2mLa

Restaurants get graded for cleanliness... now some office buildings and schools are getting ratings too, based on the cleanliness of their indoor air, to make sure it's free of viruses like COVID and the flu. @NBCLA I-Team shows you how it works. https://t.co/rPiFBcKI0P
