While other species have harsh, wild calls evocative of the coast, Mediterranean Gulls boast a more muted nasal accent, which somehow manages to sound dignified and comical at the same time. Reminiscent of the late Frankie Howerd, but not as much as the seriously funny Eider Duck is.

As you might imagine, the first few months of the Trump/Musk presidency have not exactly dazzled me. They have, in fact, been even worse than I thought they would be — and I’m not even Canadian.
