MILWAUKEE -- In the throes of their worst losing streak in more than a year, the Cardinals showed off their feistiness in a variety of ways and then beat the Brewers with stellar performances from their offense and bullpen on Saturday at American Family Field. The Cardinals used a Statcast-projected 433-foot, three-run home run from Nolan Gorman and a two-run single by Victor Scott II to defeat the Brewers 8-5 in a game that featured plenty of tension between the two NL Central rivals.

#STLCards RHP Andre Granillo is on in relief of Sonny Gray for his MLB debut. Granillo started his MLB career by retiring #Brewers catcher William Contreras .

The wheels have come for RHP Sonny Gray and the #STLCards in the fifth inning as the #Brewers have scored five times. The first six batters of the inning reached with Sal Frelcik singling in two runs and Jackson Chourio blasting a two-run HR to dead center. https://t.co/qhgk7zkHmc

#Brewers rookie and Missouri native Jacob Misiorowski dialed up 101.1 mph with his four-seam fastball to strike out #STLCards catcher Pedro Pages to end the fifth inning. Misiorowski hasn't allowed a hit through five innings, while also striking out five. https://t.co/iJU3XxEBcI
