    During the June 2 Pipestone City Council meeting, the council approved a site location proposal brought forward by the Veterans Memorial Committee. With this approval to locate the memorial on city-owned property, city attorney Jason Hill can now draft an ordinance to establish the Veterans Memorial. The general site for the memorial had previously been identified as a location within Moore Park on North Hiawatha Ave.

    Variances grantedThe Pipestone City Council, during its June 2 meeting, approved two resolutions granting variances which were recommended by the board of appeals and adjustments. The first will allow the Pipestone County Highway Department to construct a structure located within an applicable setback that exceeds the height limitations. The structure will be located at 600 Fourth St. NW on the grounds of the current County Highway Department property.

    Breeann Lenore Krueger was sentenced Wednesday, June 4, 2025 to 117 months in prison for her conviction of third-degree murder. The sentencing stems from the November 2022 death of Justin Rops of Pipestone. On April 15, Krueger pleaded guilty to the charge, admitting to selling fentanyl in a powdered form to Miranda Michelle Sanow.
