Four months after a conceptual presentation for a mixed-use development on the former Laconia State School property got a favorable response from the Planning Board, the project is now up for its first reviews before Laconia's Technical Review Committee. Assuming the project passes muster there, it will return to the Planning Board in July in the form of a density master plan, according to Kevin Smith, the project manager for Pillsbury Realty & Development in Londonderry.

Neither of those limitations stopped Kelly from recognizing the potential of Tenney Mountain Ski Resort as a four-season destination and a springboard for economic development. The Pennsylvania man who allegedly killed his grandmother with a hammer last year at her Easton home has filed a notice of insanity defense. Joshua Lanchester, 23, of Pequea, Pennsylvania, was indicted in February by a Grafton County Grand Jury on one count of second-degree reckless murder for causing the death of his paternal grandmother, Cynthia Lanchester, 76, on Sept. 28, 2024.
