MINOT and JAMESTOWN, N.D. — Freshman guard Tylie Brodina scored a game-high 25 points to spark Devils Lake to a 68-53 victory against South Prairie-Max on Saturday for the North Dakota Division A state girls basketball championship at the Minot State Dome. Junior guard Cabryn Fritel added 13 points for the No. 3-seeded Firebirds, who built a 39-25 halftime lead. Devils Lake won its first state title since 1987. Sophomore guard Bre Rose scored 12 points to lead the No. 5-seeded Royals.

JAMESTOWN and MINOT, N.D. — No. 6-seeded Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier is set to play for a North Dakota Division B girls basketball state championship against the top team in the division. The Rebels earned a 53-36 victory against No. 2 seed Bowman County in the B semifinals Friday afternoon at the Jamestown Civic Center. Senior forward Mataeya Mathern paced E-K-M with 19 points and 12 rebounds. The Rebels limited Bowman County to 13 points in the second half.
