New Britain, Conn./WTIC Radio - State police are looking for the suspect in a stabbing reported at a CT Fastrak station last month in New Britain. It happened April 4th. Detectives at Troop H in Hartford say some type of altercation broke out between the suspect and the victim. That victim sustained a stab wound to the back. The stabbing victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. Anyone with any information is asked to call state police at Troop H.

Police say the Canton resident is being charged with two counts of kidnapping in the first degree for the alleged incidents that occurred in 1982 and 1983. Both victims, police say, were under six years of age at the time.

Now under arrest on murder charges is Edwin Arroyo-Roman, 55. Police said the two were acquainted with one another. At a news conference, Police Chief Karl Jacobson lauded the quick work of his detectives in making an arrest. Arroyo-Roman was arraigned Wednesday and is being held on $3 million bond.

It was around 1:30 p.m. when officers responded to an area of Capitol Avenue on a citizen report of shots fired. When they arrived, a male victim in his 20s was found unresponsive with at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and later pronounced dead.

They were called to a Church Hill Road residence for a well-being check. An investigation found Nicole Anderson, 28, was not a threat to herself or others. But when her mother arrived to keep her company, police say she and Anderson got into a verbal dispute that became physical. The mother sustained minor injuries.

New Haven, Conn./WTIC Radio - Police in New Haven are releasing additional details on a Friday homicide. They say just before 8:00 Friday night, they received a call about a suspicicous death. Officers later found Naysha Mendez, 35, dead near Evergreen Cemetery. Detectives say they spent the weekend processing the scene. An autopsy was performed, at which point the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide. Police say it's an isolated incident and the public is not in danger.

Just after 7:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to St. Mary's Hospital on Franklin Street after receiving the report. The victim was dropped off with multiple stab wounds. He is currently listed in stable condition. Injuries are said to be non life-threatening. The incident remains under investigation and police ask anyone with any information to contact the detective bureau.

Police say the call came in just before 4:00 a.m. on Friday to a home on Pleasent View Avenue in the Oakville section of town. Two victims were found inside the single-family structure, which was engulfed flames by the time fire crews arrived on scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
