Concert special effects and props being what they are today, the slick, black coupe that serves as a centerpiece attraction for Kendrick Lamar and Sza’s “Grand National Tour” is in actuality a Buick Grand National modified to closely resemble one of the ultrarare 1987 Buick Regal Grand National Experimentals. That said, Lamar and Sza’s “Grand National Tour” stop Saturday to a packed house at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas was no copycat; the concert was the real deal.

Entertainment: T his Las Vegas honky tonk was the unlikeliest of hotspots. But there it was, jam-packed in the early-morning hours of Saturday, lined wall-to-wall with people dancing to the directions of DJ Slim McGraw.

Post Malone has been a frequent presence on the Las Vegas concert scene since 2016, with gigs at venues ranging from Brooklyn Bowl to the Life is Beautiful festival stage, nightclubs including Marquee at the Cosmopolitan and Zouk at Resorts World, along with MGM Grand Garden and T-Mobile arenas. Until Saturday, his most recent concerts here were in late 2023, when Malone performed a pair of high-energy shows to christen the BleauLive Theater at Fontainebleau.

Beabadoobee’s concert April 16 at the Chelsea Theater at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas started with a thud: “Technical difficulties” kept the rising pop star from taking the stage until after 10:30 p.m., a delay of more than 75 minutes. No official explanation was given for the holdup to the jam-packed and sometimes-overheated crowd, many of whom had entered the venue hours earlier at 6:30 p.m. and listened to two warmup bands, Keni Titus and Pretty Sick. But enough about the delay.

The Venetian Theatre is hardly “set way back in the middle of a field.”The opulent 1,800-seat venue, which opened in 2006, was originally designed for performances of “Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular,” a version of the famous stage production “Phantom of the Opera.” So calling it a “funky little shack” pretty much misses the mark too.

Hey @raybrewer21, a little Manny joy for your weekend

The photograph shows a perfectly arrested moment of joy.
