With the main line up for the 2024 Download Festival complete, the team at Download HQ (including our friends Jenny and Dannika, who you will be able to read an in-depth interview with very soon) have been hard at work putting together the District X line up. For those not familiar with District X, it is the name for the area in the Download Festival village where the Wednesday and Thursday, and after hours entertainment takes place.

Defects have announced three special headline shows for the release of their debut album, Modern Error. The Heavy Metal band will be playing at The Old Blue Last, London on 28 May, Asylum 2 in Birmingham on 30 May, and Satans Hollow in Manchester on 31 May. Following the release of Still Dreaming earlier this year, (their debut EP with vocalist Jessie Powell), Dream State headed out on tour across the UK. The headline tour comes after a pretty amazing year in 2023, which saw the band support Caskets, head out on a UK/European tour with As December Falls and play to a packed out tent at 2000trees Festival. this year will see them return to 2000trees and also take to the stage at this year’s Download Festival, amongst many others throughout the summer.

Underoath, the metalcore legends, have announced a series of headline dates in the UK for June. Last year, the band released two singles, Lifeline (Drowning) and Let Go. These singles marked their first releases under their new label MNRK and the first new material since the album Voyeurist in 2022. Now the band will be taking to stages across the UK. The tour will start in Bristol on June 24 before stopping off in Birmingham, London and Manchester.
