Justin Rose was praised by golf fans after he self-reported a violation of the rules during the second round of the RBC Canadian Open. Rose arrived at TPC Toronto's par-3 seventh on Friday having begun the day well. Birdies at the third and fifth had lifted the Englishman to a 3-under total for the tournament and comfortably inside the projected cut. Bryson DeChambeau has put a new set of irons into his bag one week before the 2025 U.S. Open. DeChambeau will debut the new set of custom irons this week at LIV Golf's stop in Virginia. The 31-year-old American has swapped his 3D printed Avoda Golf Bryson DeChambeau Proto irons for a set of LA Golf Bad V3-W irons (5-PW). DeChambeau had been using the 3D printed clubs since the 2023 Masters. They were approved by golf's rule makers on the eve of the major.

Scottie Scheffler has confirmed he will return to the Scottish Open for the first time in two years. The American World No.1 will tee it up at The Renaissance Club in East Lothian over 10-13 July. It will be the final tournament he plays before heading to Northern Ireland for The Open at Royal Portrush. Scheffler's inclusion means seven players from the top 10 in the world rankings will use the tournament as major prep.

Luke Clanton told reporters he meditated in the shower to prepare for his first competitive round as a PGA Tour member alongside Rory McIlroy. Clanton, 21, was a top-ranked amateur before he turned pro this week ahead of the RBC Canadian Open. He already has several notable achievements under his belt and is being billed as a future star. In 2024, Clanton became the first amateur since Jack Nicklaus in 1961 to record three top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour in a year.
