Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee has rushed to the defence of Tommy Fleetwood by declaring his seven-foot putt for par "clearly hit something that caused it to dart right and miss" at the Travelers Championship. Fleetwood, 34, held a commanding three-shot lead entering the final round of the eighth and final $20m Signature Event of the PGA Tour season. The Englishman held a two-shot lead with three holes to play but finished bogey-par-bogey to lose by one shot to Keegan Bradley.

Tommy Fleetwood admits he is "gutted" to have thrown away a golden chance to win a first PGA Tour title at the Travelers Championship. Fleetwood, 34, held a commanding three-shot lead heading into the final round of the final $20m Signature Event of the PGA Tour season at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut. Despite being briefly caught around the turn, Fleetwood edged back into a two-shot lead with birdies on 11 and 13.

Maja Stark left her caddie at a loss for words after she broke her putter during the final round of the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Stark, 25, was seen snapping her putter over her own golf bag as she trudged off the green following a missed putt. As you can see from the video below, the putter head flies off in front of her as she storms off to the next tee. Stark's temper tantrum left her caddie Jeff Brighton at a complete loss for words.
